Is your IPAF PAL Card approaching its expiry date? If you are looking to renew your IPAF licence in Cardiff, Harris Safety Training Services can help you plan your next course at our Llantrisant training centre, near Cardiff.
We support individuals and businesses across Cardiff and South Wales, with training options for the powered access equipment you use at work.
How long does an IPAF PAL Card last?
In the UK, an IPAF operator PAL Card is valid for five years. To keep your qualification current, you need to complete the appropriate renewal training and assessment every five years. Renewal is not automatic.
Check the expiry date on your PAL Card or in the IPAF ePAL app, and contact us ahead of that date so there is time to arrange a suitable course.
Renewal course or full operator course?
A shorter renewal route is available for eligible existing operators. IPAF requires renewal to be completed before the current card expires, with evidence of operating experience recorded in a paper logbook or the ePAL app.
From 1 January 2026, IPAF’s published requirement for a MEWP operator renewal course is at least 60 logged entries over five years. If your card has expired, or you do not have the required experience records, you will need to take the full operator course again.
Send us your current categories, expiry date and details of your experience records. Our training team can check the appropriate route before you book.
